Better Together
Step 1: Eat well 80% of time
Step 2: Indulge yourself the other 20%
Step 3: Lose weight
That’s it.
What?
You should know by now we don’t do a lot of hand holding here at TurnMaker Media.
If it’s simple and it works, our job is to let you know.
The 80/20 Rule works folks … you WILL lose weight!
Let’s take a wild stab at describing the wild roller coaster diet ride you can’t seem to get off of:
You pay 24.00 bucks at Barnes and Noble for yet another fad diet book.
After two flawless days of regimented eating you have a moment of weakness (a cookie perhaps).
You start torturing yourself for the infraction.
The downward pressure of self loathing, guilt and failure begin.
All manner of logic and reason are ignored …
The rest of the cookies are retrieved from the trash and you proceed to inhale those cookies … like … it was your last meal earth!
Sound familar?
Don’t worry ..
It’s not that you have no self control to lose weight.
Far from it.
Your bodies natural survival mechanism’s have kicked in.
All sorts of things– out of your control– were going on mentally, physically and biologically.
That’s why only 5% of people who do these radical diets- based on deprivation- actually lose weight.
(they usually put it right back on btw)
Can I tell you something?
Depriving yourself from the joy of eating foods you love, is just plain wrong … and … is the very reason why you cannot lose weight.
[insert collective gasp]
Not kidding.
In fact, just the other day I sat down and had me a slice of New York Cheesecake drizzled in a raspberry sauce.
It was not a big deal though …
Because I’m an 80/20 eater:
Yep …
A growing number of us 80/20s have managed to consistently lose weight– and keep it off– simply by eating well most of the time and enjoying the food we love some of the time.
Crazy crash diets that have you on and off the caloric wagon is too hard on your body.
Losing weight is a matter of balance, consistency, moderation and time.
The old adage is if you reduce your caloric intake by (X) you will lose (Y) pound/s each week and a total of (Y) each year. And while that may be true. It is more likely that these figures are overstated.
You can just as easily lose weight by improving how well you eat the majority of your week/s–over a longer period of time.
Bottom Line: Eat clean, natural, good foods, most of the time and selectively indulge some of the time. You will lose weight.
Note: Check out the Minus 5 post we did a few weeks ago, to find out how easy it is to eat clean, natural, good foods.
A. It’s fun, easy and guilt free.
B. The more you get used to eating well 80% of the time …
The more you will:
A long term benefit of 80/20 Rule Eating is re-establishing that healthy connection between you and your food. With-out all the negative self talk!
Bon Appetite!
