Better Together

Here’s a stress management technique that ensures you are getting things done whilst staying healthy, happy and productive over the long haul.

It’s called the Law of Medium Speed.

Simple. Straight Forward. Powerful.

And if you do nothing else this year … then … I’ve only got one thing to say:

“Read and Heed the Law of Medium Speed!”

LAW OF MEDIUM SPEED: Stress Management Step by Step

1. Slow down.

2. Breathe.

3. Focus on one thing.

4. Finish it.

5. Move on to the next thing.

6. Repeat.

Sounds simple; but it is much harder than you think.

  • Write it on your hand.
  • Put a note in your pocket.
  • Tell Siri you want to be reminded every hour on the hour.

Just do it!

You won’t be sorry … I promise.

And if you cannot see trying Medium Speed for yourself (?) do it for your family, friends and co-workers.

Please?

LOGIC: Law of Medium Speed Stress Management

You will get the same amount done–if not more– because you will:

-make less mistakes

-reduce duplication of efforts

-have the clarity of mind to evolve and simplify your processes

-avoid those catatonic periods where nothing is getting done

BONUS: Law of Medium Speed

1. You come off looking cool calm and collected while everyone else is losing their minds

2. You complete the task consciously: Enjoying the process, connecting with others involved

3. It’s safer (i.e.; driving while texting)

4. Avoid the nervous breakdown you believe– by now– is inevitable

5. Last but not least (my favorite) people will like you more.

Action required:

Next time you are in a crap storm of doing to many things at break neck speeds? Stop. Take a deep breath and say to yourself; “Medium speed Sunshine”

Helpful Tips

  • Think of a Japanese tea ceremony where every movement and connection is sacred
  • As the breath goes; so does the mind. Slow and measured is what you are after.(try 4 counts in and 4 counts out)
  • If you are overwhelmed to the point of curling up in a fetal position and sucking your thumb? Well, it’s time to ruthlessly cut out and/or renegotiate certain tasks.
  • Can’t see the forest for the tree’s? (happens to me all the time) Get together with a trusted friend and let them help you trim that to do list (see Choosing your battles)

That’s all folks.

“Medium Speed!”
